Terms and conditions

You must have your own roof bars for your vehicle with enough load capacity for the tent you wish to hire. Please check that the dynamic roof loading capacity is also high enough for what you want to fit on the roof of your car.

We advise that you should inform your car insurance company that you are fitting a roof top tent to your car.

Have a look in the store to price up your potential hire, eg, tent for 7 nights along with the living pod. Add 7 of the tent to basket and the pod once to give you a total.

Once all that is taken care of and you have chosen the tent you wish to hire, please email info@topviewtents.co.uk or call 07510 788 661 for availability and to make your booking.

When you decide to book, we ask for a £30 down payment to secure the booking. The remaining balance can be paid at anytime, but must be paid in full before you collect.

If you need to cancel, you can do so up to 7 days before the collection date and we will refund you in full. If cancellation is after 7 days we will retain the £30 down payment but will refund any other payments made towards the due balance.

We will arrange a time slot with you to collect after 8am on the 1st night of the hire, and be given a demonstration if required. We will securely fit the tent at our Kilmarnock premises.

When you arrive to collect the tent, we need to make a copy of your photographic I.D and take a security deposit of £100. (Cash is preferred for the deposit.) We cannot release the tent without I.D, the copy we make will be destroyed when the tent is returned. We will then fit the tent to your car with security locking nuts.

The deposit will be returned to you at the end of the hire as long as there are no damages to the tent. You are liable for all damages done or parts lost. Please let us know as soon as possible, we understand that accidents do happen.

As stated above the tent will be secured with security locking nuts to deter theft. If in the unlikely event that it is stolen, please report it to the police immediately and obtain an incident number for our insurance.

Please use the tent, accessories and equipment as they are intended to be used. Keep the tent as clean and tidy as possible at all times. Keep shoes in the bags provided outside the tent.

NO SMOKING of any kind inside the tent or living pod. A £50 cleaning charge will be taken to remove the smell of smoke.

NO NAKED FLAMES inside, or anywhere near the tent or living pod. Cooking on stoves or campfires should be contained and well away from your vehicle. These tents are quite expensive, if the fabric is damaged, the tent is no longer fit for purpose and will have to be paid for by you.

NO ANIMALS inside the tent please.

Please take care of the items you hire.

At the end of your hire, your tent must be returned to our premises before 4:30pm. If you are running late please let us know as soon as possible. A charge may be payable by you if this leads to the loss of a following hire due to the late return of your tent.

We will inspect the tent for any damages, then remove it from your vehicle. Your deposit will be returned, (if the tent is in good condition) and your I.D will be destroyed.
